Over the course of my writing career, I’ve published six books, the most recent of which was a short biography (Geoffrey Chaucer: Unveiling the Merry Bard, Reaktion 2024), which received warm reviews in the Wall Street Journal and the Times Literary Supplement.

My shorter publications include essays in The Washington Post, History Today, and the Times Literary Supplement, to which I am a regular contributor. Since 2021, I have also regularly published short humour in online comedy publications like McSweeney’s, Points In Case, The Belladonna, Jane Austen’s Wastebasket, and Defenestration, among other places.

I also publish a weekly newsletter called Page by Page, which supports writers and researchers who want to hone their skills in order to build more fulfilling careers.
